Step 1: School Selection
A six month ‘preparatory’ programme where students gain basic industry knowledge and 'foundation' level certification. Delivered remotely and online.
Step 2: Internship Selection
Graduating students progress to a six month internship that focuses on service delivery and 'entry-level' industry certification. Students work from a local office with oversight from network administrators and engineers.
Step 3: Employment Selection
Qualifying students are offered fulltime paid employment through cadetship in Australia.
The school programme is supported by tiaki technology.
Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Hoani Waititi Marae (Auckland) ran a pilot of the School programme in 2022.
Students worked toward Microsoft AZURE and CompTIA industry certification, with qualifying students moving into the internship programme.
Microsoft has formally endorsed the programme, and it is being introduced to other kura in 2023.
